Control

I'd like to make another about my outside reading book. Another theme the author is trying to convey is that we are all capable of producing evils and violence. It's just how each of us copes and controls these impulses that make us "good" or "bad", and makes us who we are. I believe he is doing this through one of the characters, Alia, relying on memories of 'past lives' (this is the easiest way to explain it if you haven't read the dune novels), In order to control herself and over flooding her mind with these sentient memories, she relies on a character's memories to help he push everything else out. (Herbert 60-62) We know this character from the past two Dune novels, and we know him to be evil and a man with a hidden agenda.

Very deep, but a little hard to follow, Fander Zreid. I think it seems like a little strech for a theme
