Alright, first off, good news! My dad came out of his coma on Friday 16th of November. We've got a long haul ahead of us in terms of speech, occupational, and physical therapy , so i suspect that very little of my homework will be coming in on time for the next couple of months due to the fact that I will be spending most of my time at the hospital. Anyway, moving on to the blog.
I've begun reading a book titled Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny. Supposedly this is a sci-fi novel, based on Hindu gods. As I began flipping through the pages I could begin to see that it is going to be a challenging read. The names are foreign to me, so it's difficult to know if I'm 'pronouncing' them right. Due to the fact that a flood of characters are introduced right of that bat, I can tell it's going to be difficult to remember who is who. At least until some of the characters become more developed. As I've begun to move along I've also noticed that the writing is done using a touch of ancient language philosophies. It is written in a very "Hindu" style with many references to nature.
"I? I am nothing," replied the other. "A leaf caught in a whirlpool perhaps. A feather in the wind..." (Zelazny 9). I believe that's all that can really be said at this point. The character's are not yet developed, and we don't really have an idea of their personalities. All I can do now is continue forward..
