The Gun Slinger

This is the first blog post for the novel titled "The Gunslinger" by Stephen king. I haven't actually begun reading into the novel itself quite yet, but have read King's introduction and the background story behind the writing of the novel. It seems that the gunslinger trilogy were his first novels, and were during his late teenage years in which King was an abuser of alcohol and illegal drugs. It also seems that some of the inspiration for the novel came from an author known as Roger Zelazny (the same guy who wrote the novel "Lord of Light", my last choice of reading, and the "Princes of Amber" series). Knowing Zelazny's type of writing, and if Stephen King wrote anything like Zelazny, "The Gunslinger" should be another bizarre novel. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
